Phonics are not boring

This is how we learn the different sounds in English.

We usually spend 10/15 minutes at the beginning of the class practicing phonics and sometimes we also work on different stations.

First we learn the letter and the phoneme (in class we call them sounds). After that we learn words and vocabulary with that sound and finally we do different fun and manipulative activities to practice the four skills (writing, reading, listening and speaking)

In CP we start with the basic sounds and in CE1 and CE2 we learn the blendings and the digraphs.

Children love when they can start reading and understanding the rules for writing and reading in English. After a bit of practice they feel very proud and they can see the improvements.
