5ème English Villains

“Your walk talks and your talk talks, but your walk talks more than your talk talks.”          -John C. Maxwell-

We have started the 5ème English academic year with many opportunities to practise speaking. It is a year full of projects and activities to encourage and promote a safe atmosphere in which to share ideas, real life experiences and creative projections.

Our first project consists of each student creating a villain with a concrete identity, an origin, personality traits, supernatural abilities and a specific enemy. Villains can be portrayed as positive or negative characters but always have a lesson to teach us. It has been interesting to listen to each student describe his or her designed villain but it has also been an opportunity to reinforce that our actions speak louder than our words. Some villains are portrayed as evil but in reality are helping humanity.

We not only encourage our students to grow in their English speaking skills but in their personal growth in order to use their words to build and not destroy and to practice and develop actions that will correspond with their “talk” so that their walk and talk make the world a better place to live in.
